Under the slogan "Technology for Art and Philosophy," Seattle-based fine art startup G-1.ART presented its inaugural exhibition of 2023, [Line · Surface · Space], at Kote in Insadong. Nine abstract paintings and collage works by two emerging female artists, Sienna Ko and Woo Nayeon, are exhibited simultaneously online and offline alongside their respective digital versions. Going beyond simply transferring canvas artworks into high-resolution images online, G-1.ART sought to digitize the foundational meaning and philosophical message that the artists intend to convey through their work.Through this process, G-1.ART's exhibition transcends the spatial constraints of traditional art forms and display methods. It delivers an experience where the essence of the work and the artist's message are fully conveyed to both online and offline audiences while preserving their aesthetic beauty. In doing so, it drives innovation in how original fine art and its digital iterations are exhibited, while boldly posing fundamental questions such as "What do we exhibit?" and "What do we own, buy, and sell?"The digitization of abstract paintings and collages composed of the simplest lines, planes, and colors—together with a completely novel display and presentation method for these digital creations—will offer audiences a profound philosophical play that reaches far beyond the simplicity of visual elements. ​ "예술과 철학을 위한 기술" 이라는 슬로건 아래 설립된 시애틀 기반의 순수예술 스타트업 지원닷아트 (G-1.ART) 가 2023년을 여는 첫 전시 [선-면-한:공간]을 인사동 코트 (Kote) 에서 개최했습니다. 두 신진 여성 작가 (Sienna Ko, 우나연) 의 추상회화 및 콜라주 작품 9점이 각각의 디지털 버전과 함께 온/오프라인에서 동시에 전시됩니다. 지원닷아트는 캔버스 위 작품을 단순히 고화질 이미지로 온라인에 옮기는 것을 넘어서, 작가가 작품을 통해 전달하고자 하는 가장 근원적인 의미와 철학적 메시지를 디지털화 하고자 했습니다. 이러한 프로세스를 통해 지원닷아트의 전시는 기존의 작품 형태 및 전통적 전시 방식이 갖는 공간적 제약을 뛰어넘어, 작품의 의미와 작가의 메시지가 그 심미적 아름다움을 유지한 채 온라인/오프라인 관객 모두에게 오롯이 전달되는 경험을 선사하며, 이를 통해 순수 미술 작품 원본 및 디지털 버전 전시 방식의 혁신을 이끌고, 나아가 “우리는 무엇을 전시하는가”, “우리는 무엇을 소유하며 사고 파는가”와 같은 근본적인 질문을 과감히 던지고자 합니다. 가장 단순한 선과 면, 그리고 색채로만 이루어진 추상회화 및 콜라주 작품의 디지털화, 그리고 그 디지털 작품들의 완전히 새로운 디스플레이와 전시 방식은 시각적 요소들의 단순함을 뛰어넘는 거대한 철학적 유희를 관객들에게 선사할 것입니다.
